Excerpts from A Gentle Path

“The reason we cannot figure ourselves out logically is because we are not logical creatures. We are capable of logical thought, but what drives us is an emotional and irrational part of our unconscious brain, which operates with a logic of its own. Once you crack the code to this part of your brain you will find that emotional and motivational issues that have stumped you for years can easily be understood and reworked to your advantage.”

From Chapter 2. - Peace

“When your passion is the result of experiencing and expressing your child-like self, passion becomes much more than just a thrill for the sake of thrills. It becomes a rich, exhilarating, meaningful and joyful experience. Not all passion is experienced as titillating. ‘Intensity’ is a more accurate indication of passion than is a ‘high’ or a happy feeling associated with living. Deep passion can actually be a profoundly calming and soothing experience when you are fully immersed in the flow of expressing your heart’s desires.”
From Chapter 3. - Passion

True power is an internal experience that results in the ability to create yourself as the kind of person you desire to be and to create whatever kind of life you want. True power is not determined by external circumstances such as money, position in society or the kind of car you drive. Power based on those kinds of external circumstances lasts only as long as the circumstances are present. As soon as the money is gone, the position is lost, or when the car is demolished, so goes that power. True power is internal and constant and does not diminish in relationship to anything or anyone outside of you. Power is not to be confused with control. Controlling others to do or be what you want them to do or be is domination and not a reflection of personal power.”

From Chapter 5. - Power

“The most elegant way I know to move toward transcending our humanness is to embrace our humanness, accept our imperfections and be kind and gentle with ourselves. In so doing, all of the concepts presented in this book become welcome friends who show us the way to personal freedom, liberation from unnecessary pain, and guide us to peace, passion and power.
From Chapter 7. - Permission To Be Less than Perfect
